Provenance: property of the artist (descendants of the artist). He studied at the Beaux-Arts in Paris and attended the Académie Julian.

During World War I, he served as a musician and stretcher-bearer and participated in the Battle of Verdun in 1916. He indeed created several portraits of his fellow soldiers (some of which are for sale).

He is known for his portraits, having frequently depicted his family in his works as well as theater people. He is a member of the Salon d'Hiver. Some of his compositions draw inspiration from Chardin.
