As a member of a family with ten children, Maurice follows a career as a painter, just like two of his brothers. Maurice paints in Paris with his brothers Nandor and Elemer. Upon arriving in France, he changes his name from Mihaly to Maurice. He paints with a bold touch, using vibrant colors in a lighter tone than his two brothers. His works often refer to Hungarian themes, such as landscapes and peasants in traditional costumes.
He is the uncle of the painter André Vagh-Weinmann, born in 1925. His grandson, Alain Vagh, born in 1948, is a talented ceramicist. Maurice passes away in 1986.
