Maurice Vagh-Weinmann is a Hungarian painter, engraver, illustrator, and lithographer born on August 20, 1899 in Budapest. He paints in an expressionist style and belongs to the first school of Paris. As one of ten children, Maurice pursued a career in painting, as did two of his brothers.

Maurice paints in Paris with his brothers Nandor and Elemer. Upon arriving in France, he changed his name from Mihaly to Maurice. He paints with a decisive touch, using bold colors in a lighter tone than his two brothers. His works often reference Hungarian themes, landscapes, and peasants in traditional costumes.

He is the uncle of the painter André Vagh-Weinmann, born in 1925. His grandson, Alain Vagh, born in 1948, is a talented ceramist. He passed away in 1986.
