Great & powerful expressionist painting from the 1950s representing a vast panoramic view of the funfair at Porte Maillot. The work is signed by the painter of Hungarian origin. Bénézit devotes an important chapter to him and his biography can be read on various websites. Born in Budapest, he participated in numerous exhibitions, both in Paris and in Hungary, the United States, Spain, Egypt, and Switzerland. Named a knight of the National Order of Arts and Letters by André Malraux, he was also awarded the Thelma Wade Prize by the city of Colombes.

Note: one of the attractions of this painting is that it is undoubtedly one of his most beautiful works, at least compared to those visible on the web: for comparison, his record for a canvas entitled "before the circus" was sold for 4,500 euros in 2006, and objectively it did not have the expressive power of the painting offered here / see last photo...
