Lovely small oil on wood, cabinet painting, depicting La Pompadour in her blue dress. Jeanne Antoinette Poisson is shown in a classical noble interior setting, with charming little background details of a mirror, chandelier sconces, and the interior in which she is clearly placed. This depiction is executed with taste and precision for this almost miniature subject. It was certainly made in the 19th century, judging by the work on the wooden panel. An adorable little scene of château life.
