Saint or apostle resting, oil on wood panel, France/Flanders 17th century. Figure sleeping peacefully on the ground. Hair flowing over the shoulder, red cheeks, heavy eyes closing. Beautiful drapery, still vibrant colors. Work of a small master. Condition rather good, restoration on the right side (left in the photographs). Probably been cut, two blue drapes can be seen, one at the top and the other on the left in the photos. Painted on oak panel, planed and varnished later, two pieces of wood glued to the back for preservation.
