Magnificent Oil painting on wood panel representing the portrait of the merchant prince Zubeir Pasha.) (Zubeir Pasha, 1830 - January 1913) was a Sudanese slave trader of the late 19th century who became an independent prince of the Ottoman Empire from 1867 to 1875, then an advisor from 1899 to the governor of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan. In his role, he crossed paths with General Charles Gordon. This painting was reproduced in engraving by Montbard (Charles Auguste Loye).

The engraving indicates that the painting was loaned by Mr. Egmont Hake (see the last photo).

Excellent condition (see photos), signed "PC" (monogram to be identified) and dated "88" at the bottom right, titled at the bottom left "Zobehr Pasha". Dimension in view: 17 x 13 cm.

Frame dimensions: 20 x 16 cm (8" x 6 1/4"). Look at my other items like this one.. Expect to find signs of normal use and proportional wear, especially for antiques.
