Hello, I put on sale this painting of a height of 15 cm for 22.5 cm of length, not taking into account its frame, signed by the hand of the painter Léonie Woupe, born in 1869, died in 1920 according to some sources on the internet, female artist especially known for his paintings of bouquets of flowers who often used to sign "leowoup", probably to masculinize more in a time when the women painters were still quite poorly seen. The subject here dealt with, quite different from a still life, can be an interesting detail. It is indeed a superb small oil on panel dating probably from the very end of the nineteenth century (thanks to an ebayer for this information), representing an aisle generously wooded under the multiple nuances of the early autumn, leaves fallen for a part of them, letting pass where they are disparate on the trees the sweet rays of the sun, which are for many in the remarkable play of light of the scene. In the foreground of this enchanting path, a very large fountain where a peaceful water is mowed in its undulations, in the middle of which a group of antelots stand in typical postures of their romantic style, suggests that the painter was in the carefully thought garden of a castle at the time of making his composition.

Note a scratch at the bottom right, discreet by its location and the rest if the panel is well tightened on the right in its frame. A few shrapnel in the frame.

No apparent lack of paint for this composition in a superb state of conservation for its age. Moreover, what looks like a stripe to the right of the statue, above the water, in the first photo among others, is a kind of wool thread that I have since removed. The last photo shows the picture with a different light source. Notice to collectors, to people attracted by vintage items, curiosities, decorative objects, or simply admiring their intrinsic beauty!

It's a great gift idea. The shipment will be done seriously, as soon as possible, unless you prefer a hand-delivery, quite possible if you make the move. If you have any questions or would like more photos, please do not hesitate to let me know. Ps: I also have other paintings and various objects that you will find on my profile.
