Oil on wooden panel signed jules desmarqueis (1813 - 1893). Painter born in Issy-les-moulinaux, brother of the painter hyppolite charles desmarquais. Both of them from the barbizon school.

Landscape representing the forest of fountainbleau around 1850 annotation with an illegible red pencil on the back of the panel. Panel dimensions: 32 x 23 cm with frame: 39 x 30 cm. Suitable condition; wood split at the top in the center, crack with cracks at the bottom left, very few gaps ideally to restore but beautiful presence, beautiful light. In a period setting with a beautiful original gilding.

This painting is signed jules desmarqueis (1813 - 1893). It is a little known artist with many works of art. There are some defects on the panel, visible on the pictures, especially a crack in the upper edge and another on the lower left edge. The frame is from the same period, with some defects but is brightly gilded and strong. There is a red writing on the back, illegible, perhaps an instructor.
