Oil Painting on Wood Panel from the 16th Century. The back of the panel is aged and very grooved.

The wood has been cut along the grain and left in its natural state. It is a solid and heavy panel, slightly curved. The edges of the panel have been treated and are covered with thick layers of varnish.

The gesso, the preparatory coating, is visible around the opening. The opening is completely cracked. The cracks are visible and perceptible to the touch.

The Wood lamp reveals no retouching and confirms the age of the varnish. Unlike the original masterpiece, the halo here is full and gilded. The patterns of the Marian fabric are different, as well as the bottom of the chair leg and the hem of the dress, which is green here and not blue. Most notably, the face of the little girl is entirely different. Expertise validated and supplemented by specialized AI.
