Born in 1900 in Rome, Sebasti moved to Alexandria in 1908 where he was initially trained in the workshop of the Italian painter Alberto Piattoli, alongside Prince Farouk, the future king of Egypt, and later by the Greek artist Litsas. At the age of 18, he continued his art studies in Italy with the renowned Felice Carena and exhibited his works in Rome starting in 1923 and then in 1931. Following the death of his father, he returned to Egypt in 1924, where he would remain permanently until the end of his days in 1961. He participated in numerous exhibitions and art events, such as the Venice Biennale in 1952 and the São Paulo Biennial in 1957.
