Lucien Poignant 1905-1941 Arcades D'annecy 1927. Mountain Haute Savoie Container

Very interesting lucian oil/panel poignant representing the arcades of anency in 1926/27, signed and dated at the bottom right + located, countersigned and dated at the back "portiques d'annecy, haute-savoie 1926" + an important dedication to the painter's hand. Worked in very good original condition, no restoration, the slot that is seen on the back is a surface detachment and does not cross the panel, not visible on the front. Delivered in a contemporary golden setting. It is indeed a rather rare composition of a poignant lucian representing the arcades of anency of the rue sainte-claire (see last photo), painted in 1926/27; as usual the painter uses a powerful touch to the knife, very rich in matter, here in tones of browns, ochres, yellows enhanced with blue.

These famous arcades of the old city have in fact been only rarely painted and this is a testimony and documentary of the most interesting. Otherwise I no longer present a poignant lucian, who is one of the most famous mountain painter alongside loppé, contencin, wibault, cariffa or other abrate etc...

Lucien poignant, born in chambery. He devoted himself mainly to painting in the vicinity of chambery as well as subsequently to the mountain by representing the landscapes and the peaks of the dauphiné. And the massif of chamonix. It is also mentioned among the painters of the lake of the bud.

He paints with a knife, a technique that he has taught joseph-victor communal. He painted the corse, too. Works exhibited at the museum of chambery.
