Through my Filigrane Antiquité shop, I am pleased to offer you a gallery of ancient and authentic works and objects (no copies, fakes, or reissues) at truly accessible prices. I take particular care in my descriptions: you bid on what you see. This painting is done in oil on a wooden panel (it is an old door used as a support; at one time, the artist favored reclaimed materials). The work represents a Middle Eastern market scene and is signed by Patrice Landauer (see attached bio); it has never been presented for sale and was acquired from the artist several decades ago. It is in good condition, with a slight crack at the bottom of the piece, which is not serious.

See photos, which are contractual (no color or contrast retouching). Dimensions of the panel: 60 / 117.5 cm. Patrice Landauer is a French painter born in 1965. He deepened his style during very advanced artistic studies.

He trained in graphic design and book arts at the Ecole supérieure des Arts appliqués, then followed the Penninghem curriculum. But painting is his true calling, and he attended the Beaux-Arts in Paris in the painting section, in Albert Zavaro's workshop. In the great tradition of traveling painters, Patrice Landauer develops a very personal body of work, contrary to all the usual currents of contemporary art.

He travels in space, bringing back visionary paintings from his stays in Africa, where light dances and sparkles to highlight people and places. He joyfully depicts animals and humans, particularly in his representations of the horse racing world. But he also travels through time, drawing from his historical culture to find powerful inspirations. His works are populated with biplanes from the pioneers of aviation, locomotives worthy of Gabin from La Bête humaine, or Parisian scenes from the Belle Époque. He addresses his subjects with a thick and solid paint, which anchors his work in reality and the concrete.

Thanks to this powerful style, his works avoid nostalgia or anecdote; they immerse us in a very present universe, where the artist's imagination vibrates with palpable and sensitive life. For any further information or to send photos, please feel free to contact me directly: sylvere.

The shipping price includes the cost of transportation as well as the cost of supplies necessary for the protection of the work. The subscription of delivery insurance remains the only recourse in case of loss, theft, or deterioration during shipping. It remains your choice and responsibility.

Thank you in advance for your trust.
