Georges Dervaux (1888, Tourcoing, Nord - 1958, Tourcoing). "L'Authie à Argoules" title inscribed on the back. Captioned on the back in ink. Georges Victor Dervaux, a student of Fernand Cormon in Paris. Exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1912, won first medal in 1923 and was out of competition.

Salon des Artistes Indépendants from 1935. His painting is part of the post-impressionist movement. Argoules, a neighboring town of the Somme and Pas de Calais, is home to the Cistercian abbey of Valloires.
