Signed at the lower left. Georges Deloye is also listed under the name Deloy. A French painter born in 1856 and died in 1930, he studied under Collin, exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, and received an honorable mention in 1914.

The painting depicts a lively village street with a stone arch, old houses, vegetation, figures, and beautiful outdoor light. The composition is lively, rendered with a quick, luminous brushwork in the Impressionist spirit of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The work is presented in its original old wooden and gilded stucco frame.
