French School 19th Century Oil on Cardboard Underwood Landscape River 1880

  
I am selling this oil painting on cardboard depicting a woodland landscape with a river, painted in 1880 in the style of the 19th-century French School. Coming from the French Realist school, this cardboard composition is a beautiful example of the school known as the "Barbizon School." The painting is signed Geacy, though the signature is not visible as it is beneath the matting of the frame.

It features its original wooden and gilded stucco frame in the Louis XV style, typical of frames from the last quarter of the 19th century. Subject: Woodland landscape with river.
