At Gobanaise Finds, your specialist gallery in 20th-century decorative art, we offer for sale: a very lovely neo-impressionist French school seascape presenting a cliff overhanging the sea, depicting a scene of sailing boats observed by sailors on land. Signed at the bottom left by Pierre Arnaud, a Bordeaux painter born in 1912, who is the founding father of the Neo-Impressionist school, listed in Benezit, and a gifted master of the knife oil technique. Recognized by his peers, he has been exhibiting regularly at the Salon of French Artists since 1935. The painting is an oil on wood panel, in generally good condition, unframed. It requires cleaning to bring out the undeniable quality of the work. Nice standard size: Height 40cm Width 56cm.
