Charming painting (oil on wood panel), dating back to 1882 and signed F. This is a bucolic landscape with wheat fields, animated by several characters. First, in the center, there is a man with two draft horses, sitting on one of them and looking kindly towards a woman on his left, who is presumably his wife. This young woman is on foot and if you look closely, you will notice that she is holding a baby in her arms. One can imagine that she is causing a pause, especially when you see in the distance that other men on horseback continue on their way. Finally, to conclude this description, in the foreground and from behind, there is a small dog accompanying the young mother.

The purpose of this painting is clearly to present a scene full of sweetness in an agricultural context of upcoming harvest, which implies that this work will be tiring and laborious. This artist from Brussels is mainly known for having painted this kind of subject related to the agricultural world, somewhat in the continuity of an artist like Jules Breton (for example, and to mention only one of the most famous), but he is also known for his still lifes. Dimensions: - 27 cm / 19 cm. 47 cm / 38 cm (frame).

Please note: the painting is generally in good condition! I just want to point out a small trace of dirt and a small scratch in the sky, which are barely noticeable and will be very easily restorable. I am at your disposal if you have any questions.
