Bernard Palissy, probably born in Saint-Avit (a hamlet of Lacapelle-Biron, Lot-et-Garonne) around 1510 and died in Paris, at the Bastille in 1589 or 1590, was a potter, enameller, painter, glass craftsman, writer, and French scholar. He is part of the French School of the Renaissance. 15.5 cm x 13.5 cm.
