Exceptional & imposing painting that dates from the seventeenth century and consists of six panels parquetés ... The work represents a rare theme and quite daring for the time because it shows 11 apostles gathered in the company of marie-madeleine near Paris. According to the Bible, judas having ended its days after the denunciation which provoked the arrest and death of Christ, the Apostles met together: we observe them here around a rocky source from which we distinguish a few plants and rocks (underneath the varnish) see detail photo 6 .. this painting is not signed and has never been examined by an expert, but his style recalls both the manner of the old Flemish masters and that of the Italian artists of the renaissance: the most credible hypothesis seems to be that of a Flemish painter who had stayed in Italy / opinion to research enthusiasts.
