Dimensions: 47 x 55 cm without frame. Adrien Godien, born on May 14, 1873, in Lyon (1st arrondissement) and died on July 28, 1949, in Lyon (3rd arrondissement), was a French painter. He was a student at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon. Provenance: Atelier of the painter Adrien Godien, a student of the École Nationale des Beaux Arts de Lyon, by descent.He is the author of a work exhibited at the Labor Exchange of Lyon and some stained glass windows in the chapel of the Edouard-Herriot Hospital. A square bears his name in the 4th arrondissement of Lyon, Croix-Rousse.
He distinguished himself as a painter of portraits and landscapes. The Lyon library offers an article written about him by Henri Hoquiné, "Adrien Godien, Painter of Our Rivers.
" Godien also signed the stained glass windows of the chapel of Grange Blanche. A great painter to discover.
